Tornado Safety:
When you hear the Tornado warning sirens sound, you should immediately take steps to protect yourself from the storm. If you are outside when the sirens go off, immediately go inside if possible. If you cannot go inside, get down in a low ditch and huddle there until it is safe to come out. If you can get inside, the safest place to go is a basement. If you do not have a basement, then the safest place to go is a bathroom with no windows. If at all possible, you can grab a mattress and get in the bathtub and cover the top of the tub with the mattress. If not, try to go to the bathtub and lay down there until the storm passes. If the Tornado begins t damage the house, try to protect your head and face the best you can from debris. Once the storm is over, be careful to not step on debris and get hurt. If you go outside, be aware of any dogs that may now be roaming free and stay alert for any other things that could be dangerous. If police and ambulances are not already on the scene, call 911 for assistance immediately if possible. For children, stay near or with a family member at all times. Below is a recap of the information I just gave from an official news website.
